Carnet de route
Nicaragua

Well, yes, it’s Nicaragua… it’s the first time we not only find a duty free shop (a store in which one doesn’t pay tax with one’s purchase) but there’s also a wide choice of goods ! and enjoyable…

We paid 180 Cordobas, the country’s currency, for a bottle of Ricard : that’s around 10 Dollars or 7 Euros…

Close your eyes, XL, your little heart wouldn’t bear it… I can’t shut my eyes until we get to Costa Rica, that’s for sure….

Poor country resembling Haiti… then it’s obvious, no one cares about this… firstly, the politicians… who take the liberty of living alongside the only fresh-water lake… so we can’t park any where, as there is no parking lot, everything’s closed up or inaccessible… it’s private and off limits…

To follow through, the population is obliged to sell the last pieces of wood there are left in this country turned into a desert….

The garbage tips are located in the middle of town… but Peugeot apparently sells cars.. !

Even the national palace is not upkept…

Wages 100 Dollars per month for an unqualified worker…

How do you want cars to go through a technical control ? … a bit tough… !

Ulla and I pretend not to see anything as many do… even the horse thinks of magic.. one day !

…Again, everyone fends for himself… or it’s siesta time…

We’ve only spent one night in this land of milk and honey.. in which only the Police motorbikes are new…

…no comment… poor animal !

Here are the houses… on the roadside…obviously

…public transport….

…along our way…

We are morally bruised…

But we continue our trip towards Costa Rica…

For the rest of the trip….
