Carnet de route
Honduras

Come on, Ulla, get out of the car, the temperature’s gone down 10 degrees thanks to the mountains… we’re reaching Honduras soon… you know there aren’t many tourists in these countries and as soon as there are, Waff, Waff, they need US Dollars to satisfy the administration employees whose monthly wages are between 300 and 500 Dollars just like in neighbouring countries… Here as elsewhere everyone fends for himself… our masters don’t get caught off the mark nevertheless….

Go on, overtake, young people ! We’re coming right ahead of you !... Even the police overtakes in the bends, unbelievable… but true !

The trucks here are overloaded, there are many accidents…

Children sell what they find : iguanas, ant-eaters, parrots… and the vultures clean up the roads…

On top of everything, everyone’s armed…

It’s normal here !

But our companions found bread baguettes and French pasteurized camembert cheese…

For them, it’s a historic moment, but seeing the price… we only have the right to taste : what a pity… !

I, Ulla, have decided to hunt wild ducks… while Mr XL grants himself …bike-riding and armed bodyguards…  Beat that, what a yellowbelly !

I, Ulla, have decided to hunt wild ducks… while Mr XL grants himself …bike-riding and armed bodyguards…  Beat that, what a yellowbelly !

See you later, Honduras, we’ll keep a fond memory of you…

We’re now heading for the poorest and the least safe of Latin America, in which, from what we’ve heard here and there, corruption is everywhere… : Nicaragua..

For the remainder of the trip…
