Us : the Gypsy, the Gallic, Ulla and XL.

A project, an adventure, a challenge.

Two residents of Saint Martin, French West Indies, aged 53, after having created companies, employment, paid rights and taxes… so good taxpayers ! And having brought up a family of six children today all adults and set up in their own homes, so good responsible parents…

We’re not dreaming of a manor in Maine or of a yacht… to each his ideal !...

.. But to make a pause before official retirement.

Some have crossed the oceans using only oars, others are in the book of records… we have decided to travel with our two (four-footed) accomplices with our house on our backs !!

To us, from the North Pole to the South Pole is travelling to the extremes by encountering peoples culturally so different from ourselves, discovering picturesque countrysides and landscapes, and animals free to roam about.

We thus (this is our challenge) to cross 26 nations knowing that the departure point is Cape BARROW : 72nd parallel in Alaska

“The Top of the World” ↓

In the direction of USHUAIA (Patagonia) in Argentine ­ (el Tierra del Fuego) the land of fire, then to the South Pole.

More than 50.000 kms to cross… and so this journey is carried out under the best possible conditions, we’ve allocated the duties amongst us :

Ulla, our three year old Doberman dog, born in Guadeloupe

Will be in charge of writing up the log book with « XL », our six-months old Yorkshire, born in Quebec ! Our two compagnons must also handle our security and direct our puppet show in order to explain to the children why they must appreciate the planet which is our common wealth and the ways we must amuse the children by teaching them to protect Mother Nature who is so generous.

Elyane, known as « The Gypsy »

Will have the task of pressing the button on the camera and uploading the shots to offer them to you, but since she’s an amateur, she’ll present them to you as they are and with her heart ; it’ll be up to you to judge ! But she’ll also handle the housework, the laundry and driving alternating with.

Daniel, known as « the Gallic » the leader of the pack, who will manage the maintenance in order to preserve our ride as the equipment is going to suffer but he’ll also handle meals and the camera.

After this foreword we’re going to leave our four-footed compagnons, Ulla and XL write our trip log. They’ve sworn to write it up with sincerity and truth :

- what one must do or not do – the good ideas – original and simple cooking recipes

We supply the keyboard to our compagnons (be gentle with them : it’s their first go at this. Thanks on their behalf.)
